My PROJECTS

Veterans Day at SSRCS

2018

After I was asked to "make something to hang" for our Veterans Day assembly, I drew inspiration from Henri Matisse to create this flag backdrop. Each student traced their own hands and cut out the tracings.

Earth Day at SSRCS 2018

To celebrate and inform students about the planet we live on, I worked with my colleges to organize an Earth Day event. I organized the materials, projects, and arrangement of the space. After delegating the project procedures to other teachers, I kept an eye on the flow of the event and practiced my photography skills.

St. Sebastian Regional Catholic School Program Build
2016-2020

I was hired at St. Sebastian in November of 2016. There was no art room, no art program, and very few supplies. I am not in my third year at St. Sebastian and have been proud to build a program, establish a visual art classroom, and use limited resources to collect a plethora of supplies. Please see my Instagram account for more insight to my time at St. Sebastian.

Volunteer work for GSOA 2017

Using guidelines from the Girl Scouts of America text, I voluntarily helped this troupe earn an art badge!

Senior Show 2016

As a graduation requirement, Visual Art students must curate their own gallery show. I had a blast creating my own world and was so touched by all who came to support my efforts and enjoy my work.

High School Student Teaching 2016

Throughout my college courses, instructors often told me that student teaching would be the greatest learning experience. I was fortunate enough to be placed with an incredibly knowledgeable cooperating teacher who has literally thousands of hours studying her field. Her abilities and intuition stem from a passion that began early. So many aspects of the job that we do not learn about in school were introduced to me. Club leadership, musical set construction and painting, room maintenance, and finally, daily travel (from room to room).

Elementary Student Teaching  2016

Years of various work in child care positions helped prepare me for the madness that is an Elementary art classroom. Boogers, questions, energy, loudness. If I had never worked with children, I probably would have went home in tears my first day. A room full of twenty some children can be quite daunting if you don’t know how to hold your own. Working in an elementary school provided invaluable knowledge .

Unity Camp

After just two summers working with the YMCA adventure camp summer program, I am incredibly excited this summer to earn the position Head Counselor of the Unity group. Located at a satellite location in Pleasant Unity, PA, Unity camp offers all day outdoor activities such as: kayaking on the small lake, beach volleyball, nature walks, yoga, soccer, team building exercises, weekly field trips, group activities, and much more! As Head Counselor, I am looking forward to the responsibilities that come with the position such as: planning activities, supervising campers and co-counselors, and maintaining a safe and fun camp environment.
